PENTICTON REGIONAL HOSPITAL

Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a 140-bed hospital located in Penticton, BC. It is operated by Interior Health and affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine. Penticton Regional Hospital was incorporated in 1913. In 2019, a new hospital tower was opened as part of the first phase of a $320 million upgrade to the facility.
Phase one included the construction of a new patient care tower and parkade. The tower features:

A new ambulatory care centre with outpatient services including cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, respiratory, pre-surgical screening, maternal/child clinics, and lab

Satellite medical imaging

Surgical services including 5 operating rooms, 3 minor procedure rooms, 2 endoscopy rooms, 1 cystoscopy room, PICC line/urodynamic room; and infusion services

84 inpatient beds in single patient rooms each with its own washroom

Space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program
Phase two involved the renovation of vacated areas in the current hospital to allow the expansion of the emergency department into space almost four times the size of the old department, as well as renovations to existing support areas of pharmacy, laundry and materiel (supplies and equipment) stores.
Penticton Regional Hospital provides obstetrical services to women of the South Okanagan with Midwives, Family Doctors, and 5 Obstetricians providing call rotations.
